Why do people still believe in exorcism?

Even after it was proven modern medical and psychiatric treatment are far superior and clinical?

Probably because from a young age we are told things by our parents as truth. When we grow older and think for ourselves and see evidence to the contrary then our minds must either reject the evidence or accept it and reject what our parents taught us as truth.

This is not always easy and sometimes takes many years. Religion in general is like that.
