Why do people still believe in exorcism?

Even after it was proven modern medical and psychiatric treatment are far superior and clinical?

@Neelaveni: No just that often what we believe isn't based on if we want to believe it or not. For instance children believe their parents love them, in cases where children realise this is not true its not something they want to have come to believe about their parents.
