It's -21 C outside. I sometimes wonder, why people complain about "cold weather", when it's a lot worse up here. Finland isn't even that bad...

The continental climate up in parts of the U.S. and Canada are worse and let's not forget Russia, Siberia isn't the warmest choice for vacation during wintertime. Cheer up. It always could be so much worse.

@Danez It's the extremes that get thrown off. 2018 was the warmest year over here ever, I guess during 2010's we've had five or six warmest ones, so... -21 C now and +30 during the silly darn summer, thanks to all of the warm air coming from both Russia and Africa.

@ZonkeyBalls it鈥檚 cyclical

@Danez It's also pretty much about - just as you put it - the activity cycle of Sol. Our sun is running pretty hot right now, but it causes the extremes to emerge on a regular basis. I have been in -40 C or even -50 C here in Finland, two to three decades ago, but since the last few years it has mostly been raining and either slightly under or over the freezing point, even this feels like horrible, as people get used to stuff, they shouldn't have been used to by the geographical location itself.
