Should any subject be outside the scope of humour?

Absolutely not, in my opinion. 馃

Everything that is immoral should be off limit . Comedy should not be used as a cover or free pass for irresponsible speech

@Thetimetraveler I'm afraid the world is a bad place full of bad people. You'll always find someone to spread hate. Let them.

Meanwhile, we can mock their idiocy through comedy and laugh at their expense.

Nothing should be 'off limits'. Free speech is the cornerstone of a free society.

@Thetimetraveler The world is truly fucked if people really believe that such things shouldn't be joked about. The subtext to humour when it comes to controversial subjects, is that everybody knows that it isn't right... it doesn't need to be explicitly said! And if it does, then there is clearly something wrong with you. 馃槀

In many circumstances humor can be used to point out the flaws in accepted behavior. That's good. It can also be used to trivialize the terrible. That's bad.

Just because something is considered 'humor' by someone does not mean it automatically escapes what is spoken and the speaker being judged and found guilty by association with the terrible things they are joking about.
