@SW-User All I mean is that both kinds of entertainment depended on making violence funny. I am not saying that the three stooges said to themselves, "let's be like Punch and Judy". But that kind of humor has apparently been around for a long time, in many cultures, going back to at least the middle ages in Europe and Britain.
