Scary. You question then doubt your own grasp of reality. You cannot believe things they are doing do not or cannot have reasons other than what that person gives them. The psychopath is a destroyer even of themself and will do whatever they wish to get what they want even if their actions contradicts another one when you are trying to make linear sense of what they are doing, Scary and if you think someone you know is one and it is kinda easy to spot ... get behind a strong gate and lock it.

Yes it was termed "The Mask of Sanity" in a famous book by an American doctor who studied what he called the rise of psychopathic behavior in the United States (he did not say it was LIMITED to the USA it was just the only place that had proper medical record keeping in I think the 1950 or 60's when he wrote it). I am fascinated by real crime and have read now maybe a 500 books on the subject the very first one being the best called "Mom" by Glen Olsen about a case in your Washington state (city Spokane?).
America's most famous criminal psychopath has to be Ted Bundy who tried to prevent himself getting the death penalty by offering to help police departments in America help catch other criminal psychopaths. And in case you think I am singling out the USA, Austria also has a large number, including you-know-who.

She completely sucked me in and fooled me for years, even though all my friends were warning me off. I did end up losing friends over her. I ended up heavily in debt, confused, and not really fit for a relationship for about a year. In retrospect, I feel like I was completely stupid, but you can never underestimate their ability to twist your thinking and leave you in doubt, even if you're otherwise mentally strong. Having been through it once, I know I'd spot the signs (and have spotted the signs in people).

They have sly ways of making you so crazy, and when you complain to others about it, they don't believe you because the manipulater has fooled them into thinking they are normal and you are the crazy one
KaiserSolze · 46-50, F
If as Robert Hare says one in three people are psychopaths then we at least walk past them everyday, work with them, live near them and could be one without knowing.

There is no typical personality tells or language , usually fit perfectly into every day society
Abrienda · 26-30, F
@Wishingwellguy There are actually...I recommend "The Mask of Sanity". One immediate tell is when words continually do not match deeds, no mistake or problem is ever of their creation and when confronted simply reply y=their actions were actually well intended but misunderstood. Its a kinda a joke but their is am actual term for it which I cant remember but can describe...a little boy finds a turtle and tries to drowns it because he decides life is awful, is not worth living and entirely without hope or purpose so kills the turtle to spare it from those agonies. I don't have the book and cannot remember the actual term but it is close to what is called "sympathetic murder" like the case of a boyfriend and girlfriend found dead in Joshua Tree National Park in your California in 2017.

Actually I think that is not mean but a sign of sanity on your part. Some people do okay with crazy people but I don't!
