You wake up suddenly in the middle of the night. What would be the scariest sound to hear after waking up? (50s)

When I was camping once I was awakened by this incredibly loud, guttural grunting. Really spine chilling noise. The only thing I could put it down to was Kangaroos mating.

@SW-User Right after my sister got divorced she was living alone in an apartment and she woke up one night and heard a sound that sounded like someone wearing jeans and scooting along on his knees on the tile floor. She starting screaming loud and he left. Her neighbor heard and came over and she called the police, she started double-checking her door after that to make sure she locked it.
