Why do we allow things to continue getting worse?

Is this planet doomed if we don't do something, now?!

It's not doomed: the majority of humans are doomed.

The planet doesn't give a fuck about us.

@lorelei course it does it sustains live for us.
Yeah, well, there are too many people as is. And most of them are stupid, believe in gods and ancient superstitions, and are thus expendable.

@lorelei they only come bk
You can but try.

@JovialPlutonian if human organised life disappears then the globe will find its way back to equilibrium......hence it doesn't give a fuck about us.
But if we want to "save" the planet (that's a very human centric point of view) then our economic model needs to change quickly.
Also the stories we tell ourselves need to change......we can't dominate nature we have to be a symbiotic part of nature, for example

@lorelei why would you try to do something you know won't work???
If the alternative is to fester in stupidity, why not wipe the slate clean once in a while.
gol979 · 41-45, M
@lorelei stupid is manufactured
To a degree it is, but a certain percentage of people will always be simpltones no matter what.

@gol979 I think it's more of an issue of getting everyone to agree we have to change. Greedy powerful ppl want it to stay exactly as it is and stupid ppl support them, Donald Trump is a prime example.
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@lorelei I wouldn't be surprised with that level of support
gol979 · 41-45, M
@JovialPlutonian trumpkins is just a cog in the system.......again, stupid is manufactured. If our glorious leaders and mainstream press were actually interested in any form of change then the information would be at the front of our consciousness. But they control the information and debate. It takes a lot of time and effort to see alternatives
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@gol979 but I'm not suggesting we rely on the media
gol979 · 41-45, M
@JovialPlutonian I didn't say you were.....but the majority use the mainstream media as their point of reference. We had a long heatwave here (over 40 days with no rain) and the mainstream media reported on the weather but under 8% of the (approx 2800) articles during that period mentioned the heatwave in conjunction with climate change. That's framing the debate, either by lies or omission.
Most of us are consumed by work, family etc so we rely on the mainstream media for our information.

Medialens is the website I got that info from. I would highly recommend it 👍
