I find it hard to deaden the negative receptors while keeping the positive ones operating. So, no, because I’d rather feel bad sometimes and good sometimes than feel nothing.

@SW-User Well, sure, if you want to be concise.
SW-User
@Mamapolo2016 I was simply agreeing with you! 😆

@SW-User I know. I just tend to wander around until I get where I’m going. And you’re right. (Cue ol’ blue Eyes) That’s life.

🤔Nah, it just worked out that way! Life is life...with a twist!😉

Yes. I try not to let people's words affect me, considering how fast people can turn on you. I hold my own thoughts of myself the highest. No one else's thoughts matter. If it's for the better, I'll change, if not, it's irrelevant

Wasn't a goal, but it became part of me.
To me, it's better; because when I feel myself starting to hurt, starting to care, starting to actually pay attention to something, that's when I know it must really mean something to me.

With the stuff meant to hurt, yes, but I have found it tempting to apply it to the good stuff as well just so it doesn’t hurt when it goes away. I try to resist that, but it happens sometimes.

Rather than lack of feelings, my goal is to concentrate my affections, likes,dislikes...in very few things and people.
Autumnbreeze · 41-45, F
@Cierzo even to dislikes? 🤔Do you mean to reconsider your judgement?
Cierzo · M
@Autumnbreeze Yes, and remain unaffected by situations rather than disliking them.
Easier said than done, of course.

I tend to see my apathy not as a symptom of the Depression that the Doctor says I have but as one step closer to becoming a Vulcan.

It's not been a goal per se but I do like a level of detachment.
It keeps my head out of the clouds.

I've tried going down that lane to an extent, but I think one needs to do it with open eyes.
SW-User
Nope in my opinion it’s just putting your head in the sand but that’s just me!
SW-User
Yeah. I blame Catholicism.
It is one of the ways of living my life.
SW-User
Meh!
SW-User
Yes
Not in general but in some cases in particular
SW-User
No, to do that would rob one of joy
