Does it matter?

@LadyGrace Yes... to me. I currently lack complete self-assurance.
@MarkPaul Then does that mean your letting others determine your self-worth?

@LadyGrace Basically... yes. It's certainly easy enough to see that is wrong. And, there are plenty of clichés that it is not a good approach to take. But, right now... that's where I am, developmentally, I guess. Hopefully, I will be able to match what I know should be the right approach and the way I want to become. But, I am just not "there" yet. So, that's why I asked the question.
@MarkPaul Right. I’m not knocking that by any means. It’s not an easy thing to accomplish. Ideally, we all want to be loved, accepted, and wanted. I lack self-esteem and self-worth at times, due to abuse in my life. It was hard to tell people no. Hard to believe in myself, after getting punched down, time after time. You, me, all of us deserve to have those things and so much more. I’m a very soft-hearted person, so it’s hard to be assertive, but I’ve had to learn, for my own sake, and because I don’t deserve to get kicked around. It’s a matter of self-love. Teaching people how you wish to be treated. Self-respect. I still work on it. We must love ourselves enough to not allow bullies in our lives or those who refuse to respect us.
