Me and my friends were evacuated from our attempt to camp out in the Spirit Lake, Washington area due to the pending eruption of Mt. St. Helens. The snowy top of the mountain looked like a vanilla ice cream cone...then, a couple of days later, like a hot fudge sundae.

@questionWeaver We must have been a mile or so from each other that day.
I was illegally on the mountain ... I circumvented the police closures and went up a timber road ... well above the snow line ... I have excellent photos of the mountains around ... was quite the experience.
My parents were not pleased.
They noted the area I was in was 100% destroyed.
