Man I don't know how I used to do it as a teenager.

I'd wander around Chicago all night long in these subzero temperatures just like we're having now, when I was like 16, wearing leather boots, jeans with holes in them, a t-shirt, and a thin faux leather jacket that I wouldn't even zip up, no hat, no gloves, no scarf. I'm still a crazy mf these days but I marvel at myself when I think back on how mental I used to be.

I did the same when I was a kid. Walked to school or around town in unbelievably cold temperatures wearing a t shirt and some sort of bullshit light jacket. And it gets fucking COLD here, and was codler back then.

I mean... you still out-maniac me, but I feel ya on underdressing in the cold.

@BlueMetalChick Ahhhhh my sister is like that, so you must be super skinny all the time. Do you need to eat regularly or get woozy?
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@CountScrofula Yes! Going without food for more than eight hours makes me feel nauseated and dizzy. Twelve hours and I start vomiting or even lose consciousness.

@BlueMetalChick Yep that's familiar! So extensive city exploration requires snacks. Man that makes me miss living in a city. Just walk for hours finding cool shit and getting into trouble.

Sometimes I think about your childhood as you’ve told me and it breaks my heart.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@InvaderNice Why would that break your heart? I did it willingly, because I was a crazy assed adolescent. It wasn't cos I was homeless or anything.
InvaderNice · 26-30, M
@BlueMetalChick Oh I see. Okay. Idk lol. One time I got so used to the cold that if it didn’t hurt, I wasn’t cold lol. I could wear jeans and a T-shirt in below freezing.

That's quite mental. It's 30° here and I'm dying. But again I'm not used to the cold.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Perhaps you used more anti freeze in those days? 😉
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@jackjjackson I must have lol

But y'know I used to have an overactive thyroid, and that can cause your body temp to be unnaturally high. Maybe that had to do with it.
jackjjackson · 61-69, M
Perhaps. As much as one can acquire an impression through this medium you SEEM to be a bundle of energy. @BlueMetalChick
Wander Chicago? So lucky.. lol
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@StaticNightmares It's a fun city if you know where to go.
@BlueMetalChick im sure it is.
whateverhappens · 26-30, F
Chicago is cold and will get colder around Friday. Hope you dress warm now.
BlueMetalChick · 26-30, F
@JustLikeGreta Yeah, I can still handle the cold no problem but as a teenager I used to be able to walk around in the freezing cold and snow all night, or even bike in it, and I wonder these days how I used to manage it.
