Anyone know anything about child support??

I'm 28 now and have just recently been teying to think over my life...piece things together.

My parents divorced when i was 4 and my dad was hardlt ever in my life, but he would send money and eventually was made to pay child support....one thing that I am remembering is have to take a DNA test when I was 15 and my mom said it was because my dad didn't believe I was his.

And at one point my mom owed my dad for what she said was "back pay" because my dad was paying more than he should have.

Well now I'm wondering if my mom could have been made to pay money back to my dad because I'm not his biological kid.

Is that something that happens??

My mom is known for hiding all kinds of life secrets, things that would benefit me and my siblings had we known

So it makes me think I'm not his kid and she just didn't tell me.

Thank you all for the responses.

I wish it were simple to just ask my mom for the truth, but she isn't really one be truthful..especially if the truth is not in her favor. For instance, when my sister was 19 she told her our dad wasn't her biological dad and her reasoning for not telling us was because she "didn't want to be seen as someone with different father's for their kids"

Anyway, thanks again for the replies.
wait.. your dad turned out to be not your dad, and paid CS all them years anyway.. id personally not want the cash back. but id wanna choke the shit out of your mum.. hope that helps..

@TheOneyouwerewarnedabout well I'm only thinking that's what happened, after the DNA test she was made to pay him...so I'm thinking I may not be his kid

It doesn't matter if you're biologically his if he takes care of you and acts like your father he still will be required to pay child support
