I, for many months in the preceding decade, Have taken it upon myself to read to someone who is less literate than I.
@Sidewinder that's not your job or duty or responsibility. You are wasting your time and more importantly his time.

Whereas if you do the same for a closed group, that can be considered a deed

@in10RjFox You're right on one count.

Back then, it was a considered a deed for a closed group that I was once a part of.

It is our duty to share and expand literacy.
@SunshineGirl So what I have done by bringing up a petition (which I don't know if you even visited ) to bring about a global awareness is not concern, but what you are doing by just saying it's duty to spread literacy is concern ?
SunshineGirl · 36-40, F
@in10RjFox The petition expresses concern about the exploitation of illiterate people. You asked a question. I answered it with my opinion that the best form of protection is eradicating illiteracy.
@SunshineGirl it's not a disease to eradicate but phase out. They need protection first from exploitation and you can then educate them to become literates.
In the USA? The non literacy protects them from the horror of what we're doing and who we are!

@jshm2 I don't think you got a grasp of the petition. Please read carefully before commenting. This is another problem with literates who only know how to read and jump to a conclusion.

The problems you face are due to how politicians use the votes of non literates to their advantage and spoil the votes of literates.

All would be okay if non literates are stripped of their voting rights
