If it's in your body, it's because you need it. Period.
Whereas technically you can function without a kidney, it won't be ideal and you are now putting yourself at risk.
I can understand taking that risk for a loved one. I can understand that some people have the kind of desperate times where they sell organs for money.
But it's not because you don't need it in your body.

@SW-User In an altruistic sense, it really shouldn't matter whether it's someone close to me or a stranger; if someone needs organs, they need organs. The risk to me if I get one removed is minimal compared to the loss I'm preventing for someone else.

@BlueVeins altruism...I wonder if anyone is truly altruistic or the idea just sounds good.

@SW-User Realistically, everyone exists on a spectrum from completely altruistic to completely egoistic. But very few people are far onto the altruistic side, which is why I think we should throw a little bling bling in to help them along.

@BlueVeins no bling would convince me to part with my kidney. 🤷

@SW-User That's fine, you don't have to. 💅
