I Am a Liberal

I’m liberal, and ashamed at how most liberals act online. Not all of us are emotionally and maturity challenged. Some of us just want what’s best for the people, and aren’t looking to argue with anyone with different views. I’ll respect your opinion if you are respectful. I will call you out if you’re acting like a child.

There are lunatics on both fringes. Its time for both sides to tone down the rhetoric and deal with issues with practicality and common sense, instead of vitriol and rampant emotion. Its the only way to resolve the very real problems we face.

Neither side is innocent, both push their agenda blind to valid concerns across the aisle. Both falsely see themselves as completely in the right and the other completely in the wrong. Its tearing the country apart and both sides are escalating the divisiveness instead of reigning it in.

@Stillwaiting Vitriol and rampant emotion take over instead of civility, respect and decency.

The nastiness that ensues in some of those conversations should be embarrassing to such persons, but it rarely is.
@Stillwaiting I don't know if it's the rhetoric that needs to be toned down, so much, as the tribalism. Good-faith posts like this, which correct their own, not only strengthen the liberal camp, but are good for the medium as a whole. They also go a long way to shaming conservatives (or anti-liberals, if you like) if there aren't similar gestures of good faith on the other side
@ImperialAerosolKidFromEP .. like I said, there are issues on both sides. The "shaming" crap needs to stop on both sides as neither has much room to be acting out in righteous indignation.
