We should only be concerned about those who don't let all kinds of different people exist.

We should rename homophobia or transphobia to "Judgingthatdiscriminates"

Because that's often what it is. It's not people seeing a homosexual going "HELP!! IT'S A TRANS Person! RUN!!"

Or "I HATE TRANS! I HATE TRANS" protests chasing after trans people with fire and chop sticks.

It's. The favourite teacher who always compliments her students. The expert surgeon who has saved thousands of lives. The everyday polite office worker. The mom bestie. The children's book worldwide famous author.

And the same good people say: "Others are transphobic, but not me, I'm just concerned / disliking / dissaporoving / against / not a fan of / having some opinions"

I can have so many things in common with people and they can have hundreds of good qualities that I look up to, but then they are discriminating and fearing an entire group of people who had fought for centuries to be able to exist and be respected just like you and me.

And those concerns, dislikes, or opinions, are in fact, discriminating a group of people who whether or not you understand it, exists like the rest of us.

That is what transphobia and homophobia is. Now I know some will feel targeted, I'm not here to judge. I'm here to inform. According to my experience most transphobia is just misinformation. Someone have been told rumors or made up stats and it made them fear /judge the trans community.

You don't have to do that anymore.

@BlueVeins They prefer living in the dark. All we can do is avoid the hell out of such people.

@BlueVeins He is just classic "Nice guy" lol

@helsbels blocked me lol

some people are just so scared of empirical reality
helsbels · 31-35, F
@Queendragonfly He is saying the same thing as me, which is what is annoying. We have segregation by sex for a reason, and tw and tm cause a problem, for their own safety and rights and those of others. But raising that point, objecting, asking a question gets shouted down as hate.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@helsbels Then don't. We don't expect people who's terrified of transgender people to ever wake up any time soon.

This post isn't for you. It's for those who mean well but was insecure and believed in misinformation making them judge / be concerned about trans people's impact on this world. I was such a person. I believed JK Rowling wasn't transphobic. I didn't have all the information. But now I do.

If I can overcome my fears. So can others. That's who this post is for.
helsbels · 31-35, F
@Queendragonfly Why do you not answer any of my direct questions, as I have done for yours? What specifically have I said that is harrassing and hateful of transpeople?

What do you think of your own comments you made, like the one where you laughed and agreed with my 'dog and cat' analogy that you seem to be offended by now?
Punches · 46-50, F
No such thing as bad publicity.
The more people talk about LGBT, especially T, the more used to it people become and less likely they are to try to fight it.

People often point to sports or about kids transitioning when they try to justify their hatred of trans.

First, how come it is always the out of shape women who whine about TG women in women's sports? Not like they are going to be competing anyways. My ex room mate's mom does this. At 350+ pounds, I do not think she is an athlete who's gold metal might be stolen by a transwoman athlete.

Second, why are some people thinking or worrying about what other peoples' kids do?

Maybe. At least it helps those who truly just were confused but mean well and are willing to change their old stance. But on the full blown transphobic people, it just scares them even more , which provokes and makes them hate even more and so they harass more, try to silence you or they completely avoid the topic whenever their arguments are showing what we all see, fear, predjucies, negative assumptions.

This is a very kind post.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@Doomflower Thank you 💚 I'm trying to not hurt anyone but help people help those who are the most threatened today. Which is the trans community and before that it was the gay community. Mainly the world have accepted homosexuality as normal as breathing, I want us to reach the same acceptance for trans people too.
Doomflower · 41-45, M
@Queendragonfly I'm still quite alarmed by things that I hear/see some people put out there about even gay people and particularly gay men. Being a trans man who prefers other men as partners (though maybe I just haven't met the right woman) I sometimes get a little dizzy from the fumes of hate.

At least I'm white and pass pretty well as a guy now so I have those priveleges going for me. Also I have an education and a support system and some small measure of security. My struggles are relatively minor in the grand scheme of things but that doesn't stop me being worried.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@Doomflower Your struggles are as valid as anyone else's. It's not a competition. I'm sorry you see such things be said it must be so frightening.
As a cis woman I can only relate to school bullies or misogynists. No one has ever judged my heterosexuality or had "opinions" about it or my gender as some sickness or wrong or concerning attention seeking fantasy. Never has it been illegal to be hetero or woman either. White European hetero woman. I had all the privileges the LGBTQ community still fights for.
Alyosha · 31-35, M
Sure, just let sickness and dysfunction perpetuate. Good on ya, mate!
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@Alyosha No one told you being a man or hetero is a sick dysfunction. Just because you are privileged to automatic respect, it doesn't mean other people shouldn't be.
You are smart enough to acknowledge that. After 2020 things have changed and it sucks when they call themselves 'woke' but nowadays people follow blankly. 😔
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@littlepuppywantanewlife I thought it was transphobes who called trans people or lgbtq supporters in general woke as an insult that they just make up silly labels and want attention and the general public follows?
@Queendragonfly i don't know why it's becoming so trending in US.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@littlepuppywantanewlife Woke is an insult from right wings, US has many of them.
Torsten · 36-40, M
criticism is not transphobia.
Damn you people who try speaking for others are fragile as hell
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@Torsten Criticm based on fear hate predjucies, rumors, negative stereotypes and assumptions that leads to discrimination of the entire transgenderebgroup is transphobia

It's no different from how racists are racists, homophobes are homophobes, or any other discriminating made up fear.
Torsten · 36-40, M
@Queendragonfly wrong.
Saying things you dont like is not whatever type of phobia you deem it to be.
Fact is people like yourself just want anyone with differing opinions and concerns to shut up so that you and others can keep trying to push ridiculous narratives.
Anyone that questions it is the enemy
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@Torsten Still waiting for your sources to back your claims up.

To harass and discriminate a group based on negative rumors, false claims and "opinions" is no different from racists, misogynists, people who hate men, or any other discrimination.
Renaci · 36-40
To me phobia suggest a fear. I think a better suffix would be homodium/transodium since it is more about sheer hatred than fear.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@Renaci Hatred is the result of fear.
