Psychic Goats?

I used to work for a biotechnology firm that used goat blood to do genetic research. I took care of the goats, about 1200 of them. They were well taken care of and every once in awhile they would draw a little blood from them by trained vets without hurting them. One of my jobs was to capture the goats that were going to the vet. I had a list of numbers (each goat had a numbered tag) and was sent into the yard to grab the goats. But as soon as I identified the goat, the second we locked eyes, the goat knew what was up and take off. It was like they were psychic. To catch them, I would have to sneak up on the goat and not make any eye contact. Sometimes I would think of another number than that of the goat I was trying to catch. This seemed to work
It was perhaps the strangest job I ever had. It was only tense on those days we had to separate the goats from the herd. Otherwise, it was a beautiful ranch and I spent many hours just chilling with the goats.

goats make nice curry... well, not literally, goats have never been known to make any sort of curry.

but goat meat is good for currying.

@Yulianna Yes absolutely great meat for a curry. The roast hind leg is good too, less fat than lamb. Can buy it in the local butcher.

1. Any creature caged for most of it's life is not well taken care of, though I understand you did your best.
2. Animals have keen olfactory senses. This phenomenon is seen in dogs, too. They can literally smell fear and things we cannot. It seems to be not so much psychic and a feral response to known stressors.

But they're goats. And if any animal is psychic, I'd put my money on them.

Of all the domesticated livestock, goats are probably the biggest bastards of them all. They have a notorious habit of ramming you if you look away/don't maintain eye contact with them. Between helping family on farm and working around them on various other jobs over the years, I've picked up a quite a few bruises...

Every once in awhile we'd be approached by someone looking to buy a goat for meat. Not these goats. They were used for mapping genetic code and worth tens of thousands of dollars.

Animals are more in touch with their instincts...
