Likely they don't want to deal with the mental illness known as transgenderism.

@hippyjoe1955: Always such a ray of sunshine. and by ray of sunshine, I mean asshole.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Pherick: So you like the mental illness called transgenderism?
Pherick · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955: I think we should really talk about your mental illness. I am not sure what its called, but it seems to stop you from having a normal happy life, instead, it makes you shit-post and insert your unhappy hateful self into conversations where its not wanted or needed.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Pherick: So you like mental illness. interesting.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955: Its OK! There are good arguments that any religious person has a mental illness, so your not alone!
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Pherick: Not based on religion at all. Simply mental health. If someone came up to you and announced that he was Julius Caesar would you insist he be given a toga and a few Roman legions to go to war with?
Pherick · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955: So if someone came up to you and told you that they had an imaginary friend that they talked to and if they asked JUST right, that friend would grant wishes! That friend won't ever talk back, and all of the stuff you ask for, you aren't going to get it, but its totally real.

Would you sign up for that? Grab a pamphlet and get to asking for stuff?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Pherick: Sorry to disillusion you but I don't have an imaginary friend. However some mentally ill people think they are what they are not. It is not nice to play into their delusions.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955: Its OK, lots of people have this or a similar imaginary friend. You aren't alone in your illness.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Pherick: What imaginary friend do you think I have. Maybe you like mental illness because you suffer from the same. Thinking that others have imaginary friends. Are you projecting again?
Pherick · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955: Oh? So you don't pray to a god believing he will answer your prayers if it is "his will"?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Pherick: No I don't. Do you?
Pherick · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955: So you don't believe in god? Your profile picture is what looks to be nails in the shape of a cross, just an accident?
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Pherick: I certainly believe in Yahweh. It is the only way the universe and everything in it could exist. However that isn't what you asked and to your question I answered truthfully. I do not pray to a god believing he will answer your prayers if it is His will.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955: So now we are just arguing semantics, you do believe in an imaginary being. Whether or not you choose to ask him to grant you wishes is a different story.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Pherick: No your mental illness says that Yahweh is imaginary. My sanity says that Yahweh is the reason we all exist.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955: Ah I see, my illness wants proof, facts, something that shows beyond a doubt that your god is real. Your sanity, that has NONE of that, tells you that your god is real.

Thats is just so adorable and batshit crazy all at the same time.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Pherick: No you don't want facts or proof. In fact you are little more than a mentally ill bigot with a very very closed mind. You seem to assume that yours it the right belief system which at one point in my life I agreed. However I came to the very logical and evidence based proof that materialism as is expressed by the average atheist is pure bunkum and not the truth. You see the sign of mental health is being able to change ones mind based on reality which I have done. You.....not so much.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955: ooops! You made the age old error. I don't have a belief system, you have a belief system. I like facts, sources, things that can be scientifically shown, you like none of those.

You're just a rude asshole, who thinks that because he believes in a god, that it makes it him better, or smarter than everyone else. It doesn't. Nothing that sees a god has anything to do with logic or evidence based science. You obviously don't know what those words mean if you think you do.

Your real mental illness is just the illness of being a pushy rude asshole. I really don't care about your imaginary friend, if its a crutch you need in this world, awesome, take it and run. My problem comes from when you think your imaginary friend gives you the right to stick your nose and shitty opinions in other people's business.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Pherick: You have no facts or proofs on your side. Get used to being the butt of many jokes.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955: If I am the butt of jokes because I like science, facts and reality over your make believe land god, feel free to joke away.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
@Pherick: Now I have proof of your mental illness. Anyone who understands science would never say "I like science" since science is simply a way of finding out the truth through logic and replication. If you can't reproduce the event you are theorizing then it is not science it is opinion or faith. However since neither of us can replicate the beginning we are forced to rely on logic for a plausible explanation for how things came to be. I used to think that natural events were sufficient to explain it until I became a process design engineer. All I wanted to do was extract oil from sand and I worked with a bunch of engineers who were all working toward the same end. Years later and we still haven't perfected the process. We had some very smart people working on that project. However it dawned on me that all around me was processes so infinitely more complex than what we could come up with and our explanation of how they came to be is 'they just happened'. Oh we dressed it up in fancier language and went into great bafflegab explaining 'natural selection' and genetics and you name it. The light went on. There has to be something beyond the natural to create something so intricate as the natural. The natural can not simply come into being by accident and happenstance. However you are free to exercise your mental illness and believe what you want.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955: You might have smart people working on that project, but you were not one of them.

I said, and you need to work on your reading comprehension, that I liked science, facts, and reality over what you like (which is fantasy). So it's not "I like science", its "I prefer science, facts, and reality over fantasy".

The fact that you claim to be an engineer or have been one, which would assume you had a 4-year degree with training in the sciences, logic and critical thinking and then could say something like this, its just so inane. It boggles the imagination.

Our explanation of them is hugely more complicated than "they just happened", they happened because of rules, theories, natural laws. You are the one who believes in some god that thinks "it just happened". We have logical ideas for what happened and while they are not always right, we are always exploring and trying to find out what is and what is not true.
hippyjoe1955 · 61-69, M
Never said I was smart. However some of the smartest people I knew came to the same conclusion I did.

And no your explanation is 'it just happened' You simply apply a lot of nonsense to hide your lack of understanding. You lose.
Pherick · 41-45, M
@hippyjoe1955: I am sure I do.

Just because you say so huh? Thats a whole different type of mental illness ...
