women in gender identity but biologically male at birth.
@Adogslife assigned male at birth for sure. Do we really know they were male at birth though?
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@NerdyPotato Are you redefining “know”? I’m thinking transition has a “from” and “to”…

@Adogslife What you're not thinking about is the fact that gender dysphoria has a neurological aspect to it. That is to say, it's a product of brain structure. So technically, a trans woman was always a woman, just in the wrong body.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@ItsMeMorgue Which means they’re a male at birth. I do get dysphoria, I do. But there’s no point in testing for dysphoria. A positive result would be less than 1% and wouldn’t change a thing. The female in question is still a biological male at birth. You can’t turn a male into a female no matter how hard you try.
As you said, they’re just in the wrong body. I don’t think anyone disagrees with that.

@Adogslife lots of people seem to disagree that someone can be born in the wrong body. And if by biological you mean physical, you'd be surprised how much can be changed about a body nowadays. Sure, it won't ever be 100% changed internally, but on the outside it can be so good nobody would suspect it had looked different at birth.

@NerdyPotato I don’t disagree with either of you. I’m simply finishing a sentence like the OP requested. I’m also not attempting to parse words just as I’m (obviously) not treating a trans woman as identical in all ways to a woman born as female. There are, simply, factual differences. That’s all. No negativity.

@Adogslife
No negativity.
And yet...I’m (obviously) not treating a trans woman as identical in all ways to a woman born as female.
Interesting.

@ItsMeMorgue Does your previous response mean that you feel trans women are identical to women born female?
How would you account for simple things like birthing a child, menstruation, lactation/breast feeding, clitoral orgasm, puberty, muscular structure, socialization as a young girl…
Again, I’m not implying any negativity, I’m just pointing out obvious differences.
The two may be like. They are not the same, though both may genuinely identify psychologically as female.

@Adogslife The problem is, it's more than just psychological. It's a question of brain structure. The studies on the subject are fascinating.
Adogslife · 61-69, M
@ItsMeMorgue You’d have to believe that to be true. No one would put themselves unnecessarily through such a dramatic change on a whim. That’d be totally illogical.

@Adogslife Oxford did some testing on both cis and trans volunteers. They did brain scans and compared the resulting maps.
