The 7 different genders include agender, cisgender, genderfluid, genderqueer, intersex, gender nonconforming, and transgender. Many people refuse to be classified as male or female, either because they do not identify themselves as male or female or because they are transitioning to the opposite gender.

Anthropologists have long documented cultures around the world that acknowledge more than two genders. There are examples going back 3,000 years to the Iron Age, and even further back to the Copper Age.

Below are 107 gender identities currently listed for 2023. (These are the more commonly known gender identities - as listed on Wikipedia at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_gender_identities - and is subject to change at any time.)Dec 7, 2022

@JSul3 male or female thats it all the rest in just poncy made up shite M/F thats it no matter who said what 3000 years ago still just two

@JSul3 Don't be weird
JSul3 · 70-79
@Harmony 2 sexes...male and female.
X – Female

XX – Female

XXY – Male

XY – Male

XYY – Male

XXXY – Male

These different chromosomal compositions are not new sexes, but rather represent natural variation within males and females. To illustrate by way of analogy, a person with Klinefelter syndrome (47, XXY) isn't a new sex in the same way that a person with Down's syndrome (who have 3 instead of 2 copies of chromosome 21) isn't a new species.

Sex and gender are not the same.

agender, cisgender, genderfluid, genderqueer, intersex, gender nonconforming, and transgender.

From these transgender is the only one I know what it is. If I'm hetero and woman am I cisgendered ?
JSul3 · 70-79
@Queendragonfly
Cisgender is a term that is used to describe people whose gender identity matches the sex they were assigned at birth. For example, someone who was assigned female at birth (AFAB) and identifies as a woman is a cisgender woman.
Queendragonfly · 31-35, F
@JSul3 Ah ok that's the same as "Cis man" "Cis woman" that some says
JSul3 · 70-79
@Queendragonfly
Cisgender people have a gender identity that aligns with the sex that a doctor assigned them at birth. For example, a male who is cisgender will identify as a man, and a female who is cisgender will identify as a woman. A person may use gender identity to describe how they feel about their gender.

@JSul3 there is a big difference between gender identity and gender. In reality there is only two genders in the true meaning of the word. What ones personal feelings of their own identity has no bearing on the word gender. This is just science . That being said many are distorting the word to something that makes them feel comfortable. Which is their choice but it doesn't negate the fact of the meanig of the word gender

@JSul3 genders as a word is just that. Male or female. I am not sure your facts are correct. What could be these other genders you claim to have been documented
JSul3 · 70-79
@SW-User There are 2 sexes: Male and Female. There are many genders.

@SW-User I never claimed any other genders except 2.

@JSul3 again I say there is a difference between gender and gender identity. There are two genders. I could say i identify as a coyote and that would be my right to say so. But it doesn't mean i am a coyote
JSul3 · 70-79
@Harmony You are confusing gender with sex.

Sex is referred as to the biological characteristics of a person, such as their sex organs, hormones, and chromosomes. It's safe to say that science recognizes three sexes: male, female, and intersex. However, gender is not made up of binary forms. Instead, it's a wide spectrum.
Harmony · 31-35
@JSul3 you are allowed an opinion without threats from the mods. I was never given that privilage

@JSul3 I never intentionally implied anything like that
JSul3 · 70-79
@Harmony I can't address that.
