My dad came back into my life

My dad came back into my life and I did not want to talk to him at first.This was today,mom told me give him a chance and said he might surprise me.I was nervous at first and we hugged.It was a painful 28 years ago he wanted to beat me up and rejected me after I came out.He did surprise me,he changed and knew what happened was a huge regret that bit him in the butt big time.Apologized to me and decided to forgive him.Told him that we have time to make up to know his much happier daughter more.He did agree and meeting up for lunch somewhere tommorrow
