My mom found something lately

My mom found something lately a book of photos of me during my transition. Some are photos with her.Found her favorite picture, was at court after my legal name and gender change on my birth certificate went through. She was very happy about it knowing her much happier daughter is here to stay.I was 16 at the time 5 months into my transition when this happened. She was a good help through my transition, one was she took me somewhere to get my ears pieced for the first time.It was a life changer for us,have a great mother daughter relationship to this day.Said that unhappy son she had once is dead for good and will never come back ever again
If it genuinely makes you happy, then who cares what people think. If the transition saved you from unaliving yourself then i am happy for you. Its nice to hear that a parent can see that and be grateful their baby is happy again. I would however venture to say that there is some unpacking to do in the statement "that unhappy son she had once is dead for good and will never come back ever again" its not my place to unpack or pry, but as someone who has been through therapy i can tell you there are definitely some strong emotions there.

Awwww, what a great, sweet, supportive mother you have. And what is sweet relationship you have. That is so special. I'm glad you're both happy. ❤🤗

that's awesome! when I told my mom she cried... and then promised me she wouldn't cry again, that it was a surprise and she just had to get it out of her system... and he's been super supportive since, the very next day she took me to buy boys clothes (I remember the first thing we picked was boxers, I was so excited... for whatever reaosn like thats the most "boy" bit of clothing there is to me). And she's treated me just like my brothers ever since. having parents who are ok with it makes things so much better)

Should have spent the money on a psychiatrist
@Patriot96 if you dont agree with someones life decisions, you can do that without insulting them. Also.. a psychiatrist? I would say therapist. Psychiatrists are just pill pushing pharma pigs. Everyone needs a therapist.

It is very likely with your mother's support that you will not be like the other 40%, who regret hate themselves still and commit suicide. I am very glad you will not be that I am not happy you did this, but that is not my position to demand you follow anyone's choices but your own.
