Seems to me that the tranny group is simply pushing to redefine gender.
Ridiculous.
Only two genders - male and female.
nedkelly · 61-69, M
@Budwick Have you seen the mentally challenged Dylan Mulvaney - very sick and demented
Budwick · 70-79, M
@nedkelly Yeah, I've seen photos of the sick little guy.
I wonder if the execs at Bud that decided to go this route are history yet.

@Budwick Sex and gender is different, whether you like it or not. Sex is biological (male or female (or actually instersex); gender is social. You know this. You pretend not to.

@SW-User Like I said - Seems to me that the tranny group is simply pushing to redefine gender.

Yes, of course... transvestites have been around since time immemorial.

But today, unscrupulous doctors are willing to carry the process further, and make physical changes on patients that are not as easily reversed as changing clothes. 🙄
SW-User
@Thinkerbell Well, that's up to the patient. Doctors do not just make "physical changes" to patients withour consent.

@Budwick Does it actually matter if gender is redefined? It means nothing. If you are born a man, you will never carry a child. If you are born a woman you will never impregnate a woman. Otherwise, people can identify however they please with whatever gender they wish.

The only thing I do not agree on is the right of people who identify as female to use women's restrooms and changing rooms if they were born a man. As JK Rowling said:
When you throw open the doors of bathrooms and changing rooms to any man who believes or feels he’s a woman — and gender confirmation certificates may now be granted without any need for surgery or hormones — then you open the door to any and all men who wish to come inside.
INFORMED consent, based on the WHOLE truth, including what percentage of such patients later come to regret their decision.

And people under the age of 18 or 21 are judged not old enough to use alcohol or tobacco, but they CAN make (perhaps irreversible) gender decisions...? 🤔
SW-User
@Thinkerbell Ok, we're getting off topic here, although perhaps you can provide sources to show that doctors are unscrupulously performing gender reassignment surgery.

Back ON topic: There are more than two genders.

Yes, it does.
We live in a real world.
It's unhealthy to entertain unreal horseshit.

@Gloomy No. I won't be bullied into accepting lies as truth.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@Gloomy
Words and meanings have always changed and adapted to the reality of human societies and human life.
Up has always meant up.
Down has always meant down.
Gender has always referred to male and female.

There's nothing to adapt - other than you adapting to reality.

Sounds like semantics to me.
soberSimplicity · 18-21, T
@Budwick Historically, the definition and criteria for man, woman, and other have changed drastically depending on time, period, culture, and geography. And here too today in our quite interconnected world they are again. Though many people aren't big fans of history I worry.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@soberSimplicity Sober - biological men and women have been biological men and women for as long as there have been biological men and women in every culture and in every geography.
soberSimplicity · 18-21, T
@Budwick Broken record.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@soberSimplicity Truth can sound like that.
soberSimplicity · 18-21, T
@Budwick It also sounds like that when you don't have any better argument than just say the same statement over and over and over again. Wonder which one it is here.
Budwick · 70-79, M
@soberSimplicity When the truth is spoken, there's nothing more to add.
