What dose my friend mean

My best friend let's name him Luke and I have been best friends for 14yrs and I have seen him with lots of girlfriends here and there. After 2 months of being MIA he come to visit with a man and tells me he married him. Don't get me wrong I am really happy for them and sense the first day I met his husband we became best friends instantly but I asked him in private "so u like guys now" and he said "no" I told him but your husband is a man and he answered "yeah but that doesn't mean I like guys" so I said "what do u mean?" he said "I only love him I only like him". Can some one explain to me? Cause I don't understand if he doesn't like guys why did he get marry to one?
