I was about fifteen years old when I had finally realized I wasn't straight. So I came out as "bi" to my friends, who already knew I was probably either gay or bi. I dated a guy publically so the entire school knew. After that I wanted to prove I wasn't gay so I dated a girl. Didn't work out. After we broke up I finally came out as fully gay. Now I'm 18 and couldn't be happier with myself.

So people didn't bully you for not being straight
ManicMicah · 26-30, M
@iamemo: Some people did, like just teasing and stuff, nothing too major that I couldn't handle. But anyone I considered my friend loved me for being gay and honest about myself, which was good enough for me.

@TheDarkestZero: At least you had people who loved you for you

@iamemo: You don't have a single person in your family or at your school who actually accepts the fact that you're gay?
iamemo · 22-25, F
@TheDarkestZero: My dad and his family disowned me for being bisexual. Only two people at school support me and they're friends, but I'm scared to fully come out as bi because my friend was bullied constantly for being gay.

@iamemo: I'm sorry that you have to go through all that :( You don't need to come out to everyone, but you might have to if you can never really be yourself at school. I remember I was always pretending to be someone I wasn't, just so others would like me, but being that way felt like I was in a cage. It's hard not being open and honest with other people.

@TheDarkestZero: I know, and I can't be myself at home because my aunts are homophobic even though their brother's gay. If I did I know that half of then wouldn't care but the other half would bully me because god doesn't want me to be this way.
