This is why pride is important

Not to mention the 72+ country's where merely existing is a crime

@PervertedPrincessOfDeath definitely, it’s so wrong

[c=004A59]Or dead is better than lesbian, bi, trans, intersex, ace or genderqueer. The pressure to conform to the heteronormative society was intense when I was a teen. I remember it well.[/c]
I was lucky in that I never had to come out to my parents. My sexual preference evolved as normally as my sisters and straight brother. In fact, my parents actually preferred my boyfriends more than my siblings. They would sometimes drive clear across the country just to enjoy the holidays with my partner and I.
@SW-User Exactly. Mom was just so relieved not having to be a grandma LMAO

@Grateful4you my nana asked me questions because she wanted to be sure she got it right - she came to pride and wore a rainbow proud nana T-shirt 🤣 she’s just the best
@SW-User As do I. The only reason I support gay pride for young people who have had to struggle for acceptance.

Better try normalizing it than make it look like a personality trait
SW-User
@Nanori so true…it’s just not a big deal where I live but I see things online that just terrify and disgust me in equal measure

Yes. I wish more people cared about this
SW-User

@SW-User Thank you

Welcome 🙏 @SW-User
I believe pride shouldn't only be associated with that, I also believe some people have gone to far and their children will be scared to say "I'm straight"
@Justafantasy Unlikely, considering that the majority of the world and the world’s religions don’t demonize heterosexuality.

@bijouxbroussard I thought that comment was too stupid to warrant a respond tbh
I have a young family member (20 this March) who came out and who was embraced by all of us, including my octogenarian parents. We are all trying to make sure she knows that she’s loved and accepted.
SW-User
@bijouxbroussard thats how my family are with me, and honestly it just means everything 🥰
