how are some ways I can accept myself as being trans?
I am positive I am transgender but, the things holding me back are the fears around peoples reactions, my family, and having to deal with explaining new pronouns and a new name.

IMO, you're best diving in headfirst if your parents aren't socially conservative. If they are, then I'm very sorry and you're in for a Hell of a ride.
