Are the police force homophobic ?

It seems by what I have read and seen in youtube that homophobic attacks go unreported, maybe because the police are not entirely supportive. Statistically then homophobia is much higher than actually recorded because like I said, a lot of it goes unreported because it seems that the ones committing the crimes mostly get away with it with lack of proof or evidence. The system sadly lets the community down because even though the law has changed so drastically the part 50 years, many negative attitudes seemingly remain against the gay community, this is a sad fact.
