I don't engage in them; however, I understand why people get involved in them.
Do they represent LGBT people and our behavior? No.
What they do represent is being open and loud in reverence to the muzzling, silencing, and criminalization that has occurred and continues to occur in the world.
I see pride as paying respect to those that suffered and continue to suffer from oppression.
