Is getting angry at people for their homophobia a moral imperitive?

I'm combatting a lot of stereotypical rural bigotry recently and I'm feeling very jaded.

Fighting homophobia is a moral imperative. Unfortunately, fighting homophobes isn't always the best way of managing that. We need to make some connections with prejudicial assholes, and in some cases, that's possible without supporting their politics/religions.

@BlueVeins This is a much better answer. Letting people know homophobia is shameful behaviour helps, but when you get people who crystalize their views callouts reinforce their beliefs.

that said if someone is being persecuted for who they are I'll never blame them for getting super mad about it.

@CountScrofula I agree. This is actually what I meant to ponder.

I'm not gay, so I'm just thinking a lot about when to "pick my battles" and when to go to battle, as someone who isn't a direct stakeholder.

There are consequences to letting it go unchecked but I also have to exist in life with these people.
