How to tell my friend im bi?

@JamesConnors Very understandable, do you know how he feels about bi/queer? I would make it clear to him that you are not telling him to hit on him, but that you value his friendship and want him to know who you really are.

@Lackwittyname i dont know how he feels its never something we have spoke about, he doesnt have to like me being bi but im just worried he'll never speak to me again

@JamesConnors Ah got it, makes sense. It is a risk, but if he chooses to not talk to you it is out of his own ignorance and nothing you can control.

@Lackwittyname thats true but hes been my friend for years and i dont want to throw everything away if you get what i mean.

@JamesConnors Absolutely I can understand that. So you have certain options, play it safe and do not tell him, keep it a secret. If he ever finds out he might be offended you did not tell him. Or tell him, riskier, a chance of losing a friendship, or a chance that he knows more about you and does not care.

Maybe get a feel about how he feels about bi/gay before you tell him, will help knowing his opinion.

@Lackwittyname thats a good idea but i dont know how to ask him his opinions on the matter without it sounding strange

@JamesConnors Yes, it is sort of a random topic to bring up out of the blue. Maybe talk about a number of things, religion, current state of affairs, just say you were thinking the other day that you do not know his opinions on a lot of things, you have been long time friends and were curious, then slip it in there as just another question.

@Lackwittyname thats a good idea, i was even thinking of asking him about the controversy of gay NFL players because hes a huge football fan

@JamesConnors Actually that is a great way to bring it up. Does he ever use derogatory comments like fag or anything when talking?

@Lackwittyname nope hes never used any terminology like that, he has shown a dislike to gay couples out in public but hes never used any homophobic terms

@JamesConnors Hm, well I think it is worth the risk and telling him. If he has an aversion maybe him having a friend that is bi will make him realize it is not all bad. Again though, make it clear you are not hitting on him, that could threaten him if he is not tolerant.
