Probably for the same reason that you'll call your future husband "husband" and want him to call you "wife".
As a married couple, they are just as entitled to use those terms as the next couple is.

@HootyTheNightOwl They pick and choose what they want and don't want is what I see. Like trying to have both genders but only claim to what they feel.
@MysteriousRose Lol, welcome to the world of marriage - it's just the same in a same sex marriage as a heterosexual marriage.
As far as genders go, there are more than the two genders that the vanilla world recognizes, though - so it's possible for one person to be happy with male pronouns and titles one day, but prefer female ones the next.
Equally, people with DID can be just the same... especially if they are switching so rapidly that they aren't sure if the front is male or female.
