How to tell parents I'm transgender?

Hi everyone, I am born a male but believe to truly be a female instead and have felt this way for over 4 years since high school and I am now 19 almost another year gone of not coming out to my parents after saying i would in new years. How did you come out to your parents? I have done everything to keep this a secret so they might think i am doing this for attention or messing with them when this is my reality that i am a transgendered woman stuck in a mans body. Please help me, i am tired of being trapped in this miserable body and nearly crying myself to sleep every day.
I love SW, and there are lots of great trans friendly folks here, but if you're looking to hear from other trans folks about how they struggled with coming out with their parents, there are probably better sites.

PM me and I can give you a suggestion or two.
Yes Vent is one and it’s a phenomenal site. The admin are very supportive there. Well everyone is. It’s not like here where so many can’t wait to jump down your throat or come up with the best insult to a post that is trying to reach others for support such as this one.@MistyCee
@Spoiledbrat I'll check it out again. It confused the heck out of me when I first tried it.

If your story is true, are you saying that they have no clue that something is up? What do they think right now? I find it hard to believe you've hidden your true feelings on every level....I don't think they will be at all shocked. It's time to free yourself...I won't tell you man up...I'll tell you to grow some ovaries and sit down with confidence and tell them. Practice first when you're alone till your words feel right...don't blurt it out

Find your self a she male and have yourself 1 big happy family🌹

@Sarabee Many transgender people regard the term shemale as offensive because it mocks and shows a lack of respect towards transgender individuals, the term emphasizes the natal sex of a person and neglects their gender identity.

Ummmm what make you think you’re female. ?

This is easy for me to say but...don't cry. You shouldn't cry about things you can't control. The trans community is set up with all kinds of support services so my suggestion would be to contact one of those organizations and talk to someone who REALLY understands what you're going through.

Tell em in five inch high heels

Just trust yourself and your parents will love you no matter what . I suggest reading Being Jazz by Jazz Jennings or watching some stuff about her.
I guess you just have to come right out and tell them. They might even already suspect as much.

What are your parents like?
JayBlue · 22-25, M
@CountScrofula They can be supportive but when i came out to them at 14 as bisexual they accepted it but didn't discuss it with me and i tried to bring lgbt topics in household but they just change the subject :(

@JayBlue So uncomfortable with dealing with it head on but not hostile. You can work with that.

I'd google some materials for parents of trans kids and have them ready. Arm them with information. Pamphlets or printouts and the like. Let them know what you need from them for support.
What do your class-mates say?

I'd probably pose it as a question.

Well shit.
