Do you stare or double-take when you see two girls (or guys) holding hands?

I've been hanging out a lot over the last two weeks with someone I've know for a few years in school. Today we went on what was, I guess, our first real date. It was a day hike up to the top of a place called Blue Hills outside of Boston. Because it was a beautiful day, the trail was pretty busy and so many people stared at us, or did the classic double take. The only thing I can thing of to explain this was that we were two girls holding hands. How do you react to seeing two girls (or guys) holding hands in public?

Nope, was never raised to think much of something plain like that.

@IAmJess Not guess girl that's a straight up fact, I am not questioning the truth of your story here, I know people still exist that find it wrong or strange. But you are lucky it is far less than it has been.

@Mrsbetweenfatandfit Well yes, I know you're right about that. But I'm not assuming that everyone who looked or did a double take was thinking we were wrong for holding hands. Some, like commenters here, might have been like "Oh look! Two girls holding hands! How cute!" Ugh, shoot me.

@IAmJess That is still a thought of weird/strange. If it was normal they would not even glance for that fact

@Mrsbetweenfatandfit Exactly my point!!!!!
