If gay people still separate isn't that continuing the separation?

Society, as a whole, is not that civilized yet. Meaning gay and lesbian clubs exist in the first place so that those who identify as that can somewhat of a "safe haven" to go to and have a nice time. Allow anyone in, and you are going to see deaths and violence towards those that are LGBT escalate even more. And violence and death is already high in those areas.

If all people from all walks of life acted civilized- and responsible- then the need for labels such as those you talk of may not be needed.
