I'm just a straight guy with lots of gay friends who is curious but too nervous to ask this...

Is finding a good partner difficult, given that, at least for some, the pool of possible partners is greatly reduced?

What are some problems that are unique to people in this group, when it comes to dating, relationships, etc?

I don't think they would be offended if you asked. I think the difficulty of finding a partner varies a lot depending on where you live, though. It's much easier in big cities with a well-established and open LGBT community.

@SW-User I just wonder where people meet. And like, straight people complain all the time about how our exes were awful and stuff. It has to be even worse when you're in a minority position.

I also had a gay professor, and she basically mirrored your sentiments. The sociology of that is also pretty interesting, I wonder how living in a city with less active communities impacts people's interpersonal relationships.

Thanks for the answer!
