Do they arrest old people for shoplifting?

It depends on their attitude. If they are belligerent and combative all the sympathy goes out the window. But if they have this sweet little i'm old and i dont know any better persona then its often forgiven and the police look the other way. Its not a victimless crime at all. As you said, you've been effected by it. In my opinion it just depends on the situation.
