Should the shoplifting crisis be stopped chopping off hands of those caught?

Or, do you support shoplifting as revenge?

It's a tough one. If it's a middle class Karen ripping tags off at Old Navy, chop chop. But I've seen a homeless person taking food from a grocery store and didn't say a word.

@SW-User good answer...
I’m not a fan of theft. But as others have pointed out, if people are stealing food, especially in a land where there are billionaires, that’s indicative of a much larger problem.

@bijouxbroussard It seems a lot of it is for resale on Ebay and more organized. When items need to be locked-up, or brick and motor stores closed it's not good for anyone. Big chains are going to change their business model eventually. The increase in "shrinkage" seems significant.
Chopping of hands is the way to go. Lol. In 1859 a group of proto-Qarsherskiyans from the south settling near Columbus Ohio carried out the 1859 Raid of Columbus Ohio stealing lots of things. When their leader Shaykh Abdullah found out, he issued such punishments. They never stole again. Neither did their kids and grandkids or anyone in the area.

Mandatory community service and counseling as a penalty, prison if you don't show up

You're not giving many options here

@HannahSky Maybe go back to serving some time after a couple of offenses?
HannahSky · F
@Bumbles longer time, ban from entering stores

I don't think it's a good idea but I understand why people do it
