What’s a scam so good that people don’t even realize they’re falling for it?

@NerdyPotato Capitalism is not a scam .. it rewards those who do prepare themselves via education or obtaining employable skills, who have a good work ethic. It lets those who don't do those things fail.

The scam comes when sociology gets involved and rewards are taken from those who did the right things and given to those who did not, on an on-going basis.
@BrandNewMan maybe the scam is the implementation of capitalism in every capitalist country rather than the core ideology indeed. But potayto, potahto tbh.
@NerdyPotato Look around the world .. majority of nations are struggling to afford their socialistic systems. Too few contributing at a rate above what is drawn down by the masses to sustain the massive costs.
@BrandNewMan I don't think I mentioned socialism, let alone that it was a good alternative.
@NerdyPotato You criticize capitalism consistently .. so clearly you think there is a better option .. and that usually means heavier push into socialism from where we already are along that spectrum.

Put forward what that alternative is in your mind. Nothing gets better by just whining about it. There has to be a change of some kind .. so what would that look like for you?
@BrandNewMan I do indeed think there must be something better because (the current implementation of) capitalism is clearly not working at all. That doesn't mean I have a fully worked out alternative, and that shouldn't be necessary to point out the flaws in the current system. If you can't voice your opinion unless you can personally do better, nothing will ever change because those who can will feel like there's no need to as everyone seems happy with what they have. There's also a thing called freedom of speech, but not a duty to become a politician if you want change, because not everyone is fit for that and it would become a mess if everyone who is unhappy with how things are going would run for one office or another.
@NerdyPotato You dont have to be a politician to have ideas .. or know what policies you would want to see instead and use your vote to support.

Its one thing state what you think and quite another to be informed enough to be able to explain why it matters.

Uninformed whining is rather pointless.
@BrandNewMan taxing the billionaires appropriately would be a good start to fund socialism.

@NerdyPotato @BrandNewMan
There is nothing wrong with either system (socialism/capitalism) except implementation.
@NerdyPotato Agree some tax evasion loopholes and other tax code issues need to be resolved. Also think more people need to be responsibly taking their own lives. Social programs should be a safety net .. not your base line for your whole life. That way less taxes are required of all citizens.
