Why did people fall into a romance scam?

They didn't want to speak to people in front of them but they prefer to speak to the online scammers.

If you love to hear hyperbolise words you may fall into the scam.

I think you got it wrong.. it's people in front of them who don't talk to them.. so they love scammers as they atleast talk nice. So they don't mind being scammed as now people talk to them to know how they got scammed.
