I Hate Scammers

My last post, I made reference to a person I've been talking to online. Low and behold, the foot finally dropped and they asked me for money.

I'm not really surprised. I figured it was a scam from the start. Some part of me was hopeful it wasn't. I need to stop being hopeful.

You'd think I'd be use to disappointment, given how often it happens in my life. No, I'm just left more and more hollow every time.

But there's always a part of you inside that hopes against hope & wishes that it's not a scam. You try not to keep being disappointed because you want to believe the best in people. Yet so many keep proving that we should not trust or believe. 馃様

@JerseyGal I think it's why the same people get preyed upon. You assume everyone treats people like you would, give them the benefit of the doubt..but they don't seem to have the same rule book..what you said was exactly it tho, ugh

@JerseyGal So what's the better choice? Continue to be idealistic and become the everyone's prey or let yourself become jaded and deprive yourself of small joys and hopes?

@Bushmanoz Sad reality is that there are too many who enjoy & get satisfaction in causing misery & pain for others. Now when I have anyone say to me "don't worry, you can trust me", it makes me cringe & automatically put my guard up.

@bunnyXbunny I can't speak for all, but for me, it's very hard to put trust in people. I hate that, but I see no other way. I can't just sit back & let people use me, abuse me, prey on me, etc. It doesn't mean I will not talk to anyone; instead, I find myself being cautious & watching what I say until I see if I can begin to trust or not. 馃し
