Kevin Spacey Acquitted of All Sexual Abuse Charges

“My world exploded,” Spacey testified. “There was a rush to judgment and before the first question was asked or answered, I lost my job, I lost my reputation, I lost everything in a matter of days.”

He was also acquitted last year in L.A. over similar charges. But with that one, an arbitrator ordered him to pay nearly $31 million to the makers of “House of Cards” for violating his contract by sexually harassing crew members. That's a financial death sentence. Over accusations that weren't legally proven.

A whole lot of good came out of #MeToo. But so did a lot of bad. When the court of public opinion takes over lives can be destroyed. I think courts of law need to have that power.

@11knaves11 Last year an arbitrator found that he has to pay the producers of House of Cards $31 MILLION due to accusations that weren't proven in court. A little more than a slap on the hand.

@Ynotisay if you view money in that way, obviously it hurt but wouldn't going to jail or having the ability to pay 31mil.....which would you take and what lesson would you have learned then.....I can do it cause I have 31mil to pay for it.....

@Ynotisay Jesus Christ. He was found not guilty, but he still owes $31 million? Really?

@11knaves11 Uh...his net worth has been reported to be $30 million. And I don't what you're talking about as far as 'lessons.' That's morality stuff. Subjective.

@LordShadowfire That was a separate. It wasn't a legal case. Went through an arbitrator who said Spacey violated his terms of the contract for "professional behavior." What I don't get about that one is the the producers fired him from the show. AND they got money based on the future earnings. That has nothing to do with the law. That's a money grab.
