Kevin Spacey Acquitted of All Sexual Abuse Charges

“My world exploded,” Spacey testified. “There was a rush to judgment and before the first question was asked or answered, I lost my job, I lost my reputation, I lost everything in a matter of days.”

He was also acquitted last year in L.A. over similar charges. But with that one, an arbitrator ordered him to pay nearly $31 million to the makers of “House of Cards” for violating his contract by sexually harassing crew members. That's a financial death sentence. Over accusations that weren't legally proven.

A whole lot of good came out of #MeToo. But so did a lot of bad. When the court of public opinion takes over lives can be destroyed. I think courts of law need to have that power.

Good. I liked him. I think there's one big problem with the movement. The creepier the roles an actor picks, the easier it is for people to believe that actor is creepy in real life. Imagine someone accusing a guy like Tom Hanks of sexual harassment. It's tough even to imagine it happening, let alone to believe an accusation like that. But good old Kevin who has a history of playing creepy serial killers? Sure, he probably did it, cancel him. And then when he's found not guilty, he's got to find all the pieces of his life, pick them up, and try to make them fit again.

@LordShadowfire It's an excellent point. I think a lot of people marry the character to the actor.
