New York passes gun laws......

They've successfully undermined the united states constitution to take away what is aeen as a god given right to the people. Are new Yorkers pissed about the right to self defense being taken away, or happy to trade their own personal freedom and responsibility for a sense of security?

It’s moot if there are any nearby states that don’t regulate guns. And criminals steal plenty of them from legal gun owners. Some people like to compare death by gun violence to death by car accident (ridiculous, since cars are not designed to wound or kill; that’s a gun’s sole purpose). But you have to learn to drive, test and obtain a license to legally operate a car. Why can’t there be similar requirements for gun ownership ? Control is not a ban.

@bijouxbroussard fair assessment, if you're calling for structural licensing and training, but as a naturally inherent right and not a privilege, such as driving on publicly built and maintained roads, how would the licensing be structured as to not allow political agenda to restrict or disallow otherwise competent citizens?
@Notanymore How is owning a gun an "inherent right” when control of one’s reproduction (for one gender) no longer is ? And that’s basic.

@bijouxbroussard i have no comment about control of reproduction, as I don't entirely agree with the current supreme court ruling on that argument and think that it's a lot more complex than the political mess it's became.
