Jury duty In CA…

For about ten years I received a jury summons each year, and the process was the following: I called on the day indicated after 5:00 pm, entered my juror number and the recording told me whether or not to appear the following morning. If I wasn’t needed, I had to call at 11:00 am the next day to see if I was needed that afternoon. If not, I was excused and had satisfied my commitment. I wasn’t called since 2019, but now I received a summons and I’m committed to check in every day for a week ! What tf happened ? Is this how it’s done in other states ?

probably a different court with different procedures
@tindrummer I actually got to talk to someone today, and he said they changed the process because of Covid. Fewer people can be gathered at one time, so they’re stretching the time out.

@bijouxbroussard smart move on their part
@tindrummer Yes, but inconvenient as hell. It used to be a week’s commitment.
