Jury duty In CA…

For about ten years I received a jury summons each year, and the process was the following: I called on the day indicated after 5:00 pm, entered my juror number and the recording told me whether or not to appear the following morning. If I wasn’t needed, I had to call at 11:00 am the next day to see if I was needed that afternoon. If not, I was excused and had satisfied my commitment. I wasn’t called since 2019, but now I received a summons and I’m committed to check in every day for a week ! What tf happened ? Is this how it’s done in other states ?

I've been summoned for jury duty 3 times in my entire life. All 3 times i ignored it. Never heard another word. Back in the 1950s-60s when my mother would have jury duty the summons came by registered mail and you had to sign for it. Now it comes in the regular mail just like junk mail. I was going to go the second time just to tell them there is no such thing as the truth, I don't believe in God, and I would never put anyone in prison in this horrible country and I thought I might mention I've been half-deaf since I was 11. i checked my number and there were something like 2,000 people scheduled for that day. Obviously not many people take it seriously.
@hunkalove I always hear about people ignoring their summons. But I know how my luck tends to run.
