I Hate Seeing Shootings Happen At Schools
So the organization Sandy Hook Promise released a PSA last week called "Back-To-School Essentials", which seems to be a parody of those cheery, upbeat advertisements for school supplies while simultaneously depicting the fear and tragedy that comes with school shootings. You'll either find it chilling and heart-wrenching or you'll find it comical and ridiculous...
I watched this recently and I honestly thought it was satire at first! I guess it kind of is, but I think them doing it as a parody of your typical "back-to-school" ad just makes this unintentionally humorous and difficult to take seriously as a PSA. I think they would have got their point across a lot better by portraying the subject matter for what it is - a very serious situation. But that's just my take on it.
