I Hate Seeing Shootings Happen At Schools

Donald Trump broke off from an event at the White House and called it “ a very sad day”. He condemned “an absolutely horrific attack” and said his administration was “determined to do everything in our power” to prevent such incidents.

My question: Do you suppose he has no power? What’s he done since the Florida school shootings?

This is all freakin bullshit.

For some reason, and I honestly don’t know why, America is ok with the school killings.
Let’s do some quick maths to highlight this...
1 school shooting every 10 years = very little action, if any.
10 school shootings in 10 years (1 a year) = very little action, if any.
10 school shootings per year = very little action, if any.

Now, at some point in the future, possibly not too far, America will reach a number/statistic where it actually matters enough to take some action.

But what is that number? 1 every day? 10 a day? There is obviously a number after which some action would be taken right? Let’s go crazy and say there were 20 school shootings happening every day across America (silly I know, but let’s just say that’s what was happening). You’d assume that something would be done about that right? Yes. So it stands to reason then that there is a number America would not be ok with. And therefore that also means that all the while nothing is being done about school shootings, America is just basically ok with them, until they reach a more critical level.

So I feel sorry for Americans who don’t like gun violence or school shootings, but the maths clearly show that you’ll need to have way more before anything will actually ever get done to stop them.

In the U.K. we had a number, after which everyone agreed enough was enough. That number was 1. Just 1 incident. Not 1 a year. Not 1 a decade. Just the 1, after which legal action was taken to remove firearms and no further incidents have occurred.

@sleepyhead Lucky for the kids going to school. One less thing to worry about.

Unfortunately, school shootings are yesterday’s news.
