I can't emphasize this enough, pedophilia related. (long thread)

Once a person starts writing about his/her fantasies online in social media outlet, they are no longer JUST fantasies playing out in their head privately and not hurting anyone. And they are showing bad judgement abilities.

The fantasies become public and they serve to normalize the actions of abuse, especially when done with no disclaimer. All while admitting the unwillingness to seek professional help.

Those kind of comments and constant threads about how it is just a fantasy can serve in the future for the pedophile to find and attract those like them, downplaying the seriousness of the situation.

Those comments can and do affect victims of abuse negatively, because they are made in the public sphere reminding them "fantasies and child fetishization " are okay.

No one on this website would know a person was fantacizing about kids and teenagers if they didn't constantly express it. The shift was made from just their problem to everyone's problem.

----------------

To quote someone who was warned recently in a related incident I am sure we've all caught up with now,

'I like older teens most". He said this in the context of attraction and made several other similar comments.

While he wants to stay in the website,he continued;

-mentioning the abnormal attraction again and again as in the quote ,despite members advising him not to and the admins telling him not to put that in the about me section.

- getting in fights with other members insisting to get them involved about the topic.

- most recently mentioning the attraction (again) in the 'about me", after being limited from using the mental illness as username.

Behaviors like above that don't serve staying here , which he wants, might very much be him unable to regulate his tendencies.

All of that can hint to potential obsessive behavior and lack of control.

The person claimed their attraction towards children is but a small fraction of their sexuality..They have said they are mostly interested in adults , yet they have chosen repeatedly to base their entire identity on their mental illness i.e username, about me section, the repeated topics. Also an inconsistency that shows he does have issues he needs to address.

They have requested to use SW as an outlet for their mental illness ,but when told there are victims of abuse who cannot handle it, their response is this is a kink website and victims of abuse should not be here. Again another inconsistency , this one is manipulative in nature..It is okay for me to talk about my tendencies because I am mentally ill but not someone else.

It is also a bit concerning since it might mean they might be really thinking the desire to child abuse is a kink.

They expressed wanting to force themselves unto an SW member after being told the member is victim of child abuse..

There is lot to address here but the conclusion would be the same;

A REAL outlet for his mental illness would be professional help within controlled setting not SW. The nature of social media and the validation he can gain through them doesn't seem to be beneficial to him

Yes, it's really sick and sad that these people don't want to fix their own problem. They are troubled and absolutely delusional 馃様 It makes me so angry.
Longpatrol31-35, M
@caccoon Well, my proposed solution to this problem is deemed a bit too final and "against human rights"

As far as I'm concerned, they're not human. Putting down an animal is mercy.
caccoon36-40
@Longpatrol I don't condone killing...

I feel there must be some way to help these people. And it is obviously a huge, disgusting problem in our world...

But people are so unwilling to seek help, even for mental illnesses with a lot less social stigma

Not to say it isn't still the individual's own responsibility to fix it, but I think it creates an extra hurdle for them, and I'm sure they're afraid to seek help.

Sorry I'm not trying to defend any of this shit, it's unacceptable. And I know the person you're speaking about, @Miram, and his nature and responses around the issues he has are sickening
BlueVeins22-25
@caccoon Also doesn't help that a lot of governments make it literally illegal to seek psychiatric help over this issue.
Miram31-35, F
@BlueVeins Just to point out, he has access to help and it is legal. What other governments do doesn't affect him.

@caccoon I understand, I am not going to partake in discourse where it is alright to harm him physically for that and other reasons.
